Emergency Landing in New York
Grandpa and I were flying into Syracuse, New York last week when the pilot told us to prepare for landing. But we continued to fly around and around...finally the pilot came over the intercom and told us we were going in for an emergency landing as our flaps would not go down! He said we would come in for the landing'hard and fast' and so be prepared...and then he added, "but don't worry, I've done this in the simulator lots of times!". Of course, that made us feel soooo much better. We came in 'hard and fast'...the fire trucks met us and followed us into the gate. We had been holding hands throughout the ordeal and it felt wonderful to be on the ground and safe. After we landed the passengers gave a big ovation for the pilot, he did a great job.
